We are still far from a circular economy and a complete fossil-free energy usage in the car manufaturing industry. Electric car batteries are heavy, expensive and demand rate metals. Producing a new electric cars might issue as much as 15 tons of CO2. That is a huge climate damage before they drive their first kilometer.
At the same time, we have a massive fleet of gasoline driven cars which will have a long life time ahead. (1) We can do nothing about it, (2) we can buy a new car or (3) convert the gasoline cars into biogas and decrease CO2 emissions in 94%. For the moment we go for the last option
We believe in biogas!
Biogas is a completely renewable fuel produced from biomass and consists mostly of methane. Biogas can be pro duced of your own organic waste and be used for heating, electricity or as vehicle gas.
There are today over 2,7 million gasoline cars in Sweden. In the short run, we would like to convert as many as possible to biogas.
If we convert 1% of all gasoline cars in Sweden to biogas; we can avoid 432.000 tons of CO2 into the environment. It is a tremendous impact.
